Subscriptions – Full and associate membership:

The UK branch offers a range of subscription options: Full Member £35 (or £30 by standing order), Associate Member £25, Student Member £10.

£25 sterling a year for people working in Australia or New Zealand. $50 CAD for people working in Canada.

£10 a year – Bahamas, Barbados, Brunei, Cyprus, India, Jamaica, Kenya, Malaysia, Mauritius, Nigeria, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Trinidad, South Africa, Zimbabwe.

£5 year – rest of Commonwealth

Member organizations: £50 sterling a year.

Full membership is open to journalists whose principal earnings are derived from editing or writing for a journal, newspaper, digital, online, or broadcasting organisation. Full members have a vote.

Associate membership covers those who work in fields closely related to journalism (for example, lecturers in journalism, government information officers, press attaches in High Commissions and public relations people with Commonwealth interests) or those who earn less than half their incomes from writing or editing as a journalist. Associates have no vote.

We stand for free, honest and unhindered journalism that informs the public without fear or favour. Responding to acute threats to free speech and journalists’ safety the CJA leads a broad-based civil society campaign for effective legal protections and accountable government.
